A race of seafaring warriors known for their brutal raids of unprotected coastlines. If accepted into an established ogre clan, any blood-born can be transformed into an ogre through a ritual involving a thick application of the clan’s nacre, and consequently being thrown into the sea.

As weeks pass beneath the waves, the body changes. Muscles strengthen, bones harden and ultimately an ogre emerges—a small pearl hidden under their tongue. It is said that ownership of this pearl grants control over an ogre’s will, and its destruction, their death. Ogre skin tones range from an unripe yellow to a deep, wine red, with the depth of the color correlating to the magnitude of their vigor.
